AMD has released new processor models for the AM5 socket processor platform, which has been “retired” for a while. The new processors are not high-end but more affordable versions of the popular Ryzen 7 5800X3D and Ryzen 7 5600X3D. The Ryzen 7 5700X3D and Ryzen 7 5500X3D are 8-core/16-thread processors with frequencies tuned down to 3.0GHz base frequency and 4.1GHz in boost mode. They also have 96MB of L3 cache memory and a TDP consumption of 105W. The Ryzen 5 5500X3D has 6 cores/12 threads, 3.0GHz base frequency, and 4.0GHz in boost mode, with 96MB L3 cache. These processors are perfect for slightly aging PCs that can be kept for a few more years.
